Hot Lotto^®

Hot Lotto is another fun multi-state jackpot game. Jackpots start at a cool $1 million and continue to grow until someone wins. Hot Lotto drawings take place every Wednesday and Saturday at 9:40 p.m. NOTE: Hot Lotto drawings are not televised.

If you win the jackpot, you can be paid in equal annual payments over 25 years or take the jackpot in a one lump sum cash payment. Jackpot winners have 60 days from the date the prize is claimed to choose either the annuity option or the cash option.

In addition to the jackpot, there are eight other ways to win (see chart). Approximate overall odds of winning a Hot Lotto prize are 1 in 16. Odds of winning the Hot Lotto jackpot are approximately 1 in 10.9 million. Players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. to be eligible for that day’s drawing at 9:40 p.m. Order carefully - Hot Lotto tickets CANNOT be canceled once they are printed.

How to Play

Get a HOT LOTTO play slip from any Minnesota State Lottery retailer and follow the directions on the back. Pick five numbers from 1 to 39. Then select one more number from 1 to 19 (the Hot Ball). Or simply ask the clerk for a HOT LOTTO QUICK PICK and random numbers will be picked for you.

You can purchase up to 14 draws in advance. Remember, each play costs $1.

With the Sizzler^® option, you could triple your winnings (on any non-jackpot Hot Lotto prize) for an additional $1 per play. You could win up to a $30,000 prize with Sizzler without even hitting the jackpot. That’s not just smokin’, that’s sizzling!

Multiply your non-jackpot Hot Lotto Prize by three with the Sizzler option. Players who purchase Sizzler – for an additional $1 per play – could multiply any non-jackpot prize. That means even a non-jackpot Hot Lotto win could become a $30,000 prize. That’s not just smokin’, that’s sizzling!

Hot Lotto turns up the heat with Sizzler^®!

In a nutshell, Sizzler lets you win more! If you win a non-jackpot Hot Lotto prize, you’ll win three times more if you purchased the Sizzler option for an additional $1 on that play. By adding Sizzler to your Hot Lotto ticket you could triple your winning non-jackpot prize to as much as $30,000!
Sizzler must be added at the same time you purchase your Hot Lotto ticket. Ask the clerk to add Sizzler or indicate Sizzler on your play slip. When you add Sizzler, it will cost an additional $1 per play and double the cost for your Hot Lotto ticket.

The Sizzler^® option triples all non-jackpot prizes.
