Five Minnesotans won the chance to compete in a “shopping spree” at the Rapala warehouse in Eagan on June 23, with the top two winners each netting a $5,000 Rapala shopping spree. Gene Provost from Alexandria and Glenn Henrikson from Moorhead were the $5,000 Rapala fishing spree winners. The other three finalists, Thomas Holst from Eyota, Dawn Walker from Hastings and Marilyn Elkie from St. Michael, each won a $500 Visa® gift card. Watch the video >>
1st of 2 Northstar Cash® winners
Douglas Domeier of Sleepy Eye won $13,000 playing Northstar Cash. His ticket was one of two sold that matched all five winning numbers for that drawing to split the $26,000 jackpot. The second $13,000 winner from the Northstar Cash drawing on June 28, 2009 (sold in Becker County) has not yet come forward to claim the prize.
Now a believer
Burnsville resident Phil Stravens won the $38,448 Northstar Cash jackpot from the drawing held on June 26. “I didn’t believe it,” recalled Stravens, who discovered his win the following morning. “I was in shock.” After the initial shock died down, the excitement began to rise for Stravens. He arrived at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on June 29 to claim the prize.
$689,580 divided by three
Redwood Falls residents and co-workers Deb Hildebrandt, Mary Olson and Teri Woodford (Deb, Mary & Teri) have been pooling their money for Gopher 5 tickets for five years. It worked on June 19, as the three women won the jackpot. Each winner received $229,860 before tax withholding.
Brothers share the final $100,000 raffle prize
Philip and Nicholas Litfin received a Christmas present that they’ll never forget — a Minnesota Millionaire Raffle ticket worth $100,000. The ticket was given to them by their grandma, however, conflicting schedules didn’t allow the two to claim their present until recently. The Litfin boys, who are originally from Waconia, are currently serving in the U.S. Navy, so finding a time when they were both in Minnesota was difficult.
