Social Media Guidelines
We welcome all of you to the Minnesota State Lottery’s social media page. We invite you to interact with us on any or all of the social media spaces where we have an active account (see left column). We are looking forward to your participation.
By accessing the Lottery’s Facebook page and Twitter profile you agree to comply with the Terms and Conditions of Facebook and Twitter.
The Minnesota State Lottery reserves the right, but is not obligated to, remove comments that violate Facebook’s Terms and Conditions, block followers who violate Twitter’s Terms and Conditions, or violate the Lottery’s guidelines outlined below.
Specifically, we do not allow content that:
- Uses profanity, vulgarity, racial slurs or personal attacks
- Is abusive, defamatory or hurtful to others
- Violates any law or regulation, including intellectual property rights
- Solicits or advertises another product, service or website
- Contains a hyperlink
- Contains viruses or files that could damage the operation of other people’s computers
- Is fraudulent, deceptive or misleading in any manner
Content posted or tweeted by anyone other than the Minnesota State Lottery is the sole responsibility of the submitter. The Minnesota State Lottery does not represent nor endorse any opinions from outside sources expressed on its Facebook page or Twitter profile.
If you see any post on the Lottery’s Facebook page that you find offensive or inappropriate, we encourage you to use Facebook’s built-in reporting tools to mark the post as spam.
Keep in mind that if tweets are protected, the Lottery will not be able to view any tweets, including responses to Lottery tweets.
The Lottery will send winning number tweets after every drawing. In the event of an error, only the official winning numbers are valid.
