JANUARY 28, 2010 — Mega Millions®, the multi-state game with mega-jackpots that have climbed as high as $390 million, is scheduled to launch in Minnesota on Jan. 31. “Our players love to dream big and Mega Millions is a game that certainly makes that possible,” said Lottery Executive Director Clint Harris. “Offering exciting games like Mega Millions ensures that the Lottery continues to maximize contributions to important State programs,” said Harris. “The additional revenue generated by Mega Millions will benefit Minnesotans through the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund, Game & Fish Fund, the Natural Resources Fund and the General Fund.”
The play style and big jackpots offered by Mega Millions are similar to Powerball®, but there are several important differences between the two games:

Proceeds from the Minnesota State Lottery benefit all Minnesotans. Since 1990, the Lottery has raised more than $1.8 billion for state programs.
