Olson Awarded Lottery’s Advertising Account

APRIL 5, 2010 — The Minnesota State Lottery chose Minneapolis-based advertising agency Olson to provide advertising services to the Lottery for the next three years. The contract was effective on April 1, 2010 and will continue through March 31, 2013, with three one-year extensions available. Olson was the unanimous choice of a six-member internal selection committee.

Lottery executive director Clint Harris accepted the committee’s recommendation, which came after an extensive review of written proposals, case exercises, oral presentations and cost submissions of four finalists, including Clarity Coverdale Fury, Campbell Mithun and Colle+McVoy. Two other agencies also submitted their qualifications but were not chosen as finalists.

“All of the agencies that submitted and presented proposals did an outstanding job,” Harris said. “The consensus was that Olson best showed the ability to integrate all of their agency resources most effectively to meet our future marketing needs. Even though we are on pace for another record sales year, this agency exhibited a clear understanding of how to help us raise even more proceeds for worthwhile environmental and General Fund projects.”
