Cold Spring Resident Claims $44,401 Northstar Cash^® Prize

JUNE 17, 2009 — Three months ago, Delroy Theis of Cold Spring discovered that the Northstar Cash ticket that he’d purchased for the March 15 drawing matched all five winning numbers (4-15-16-17-19) to win the $44,401 jackpot. “I had to look twice because I couldn’t believe the numbers,” he said.

Theis decided to wait to claim the prize until the weather was nice and he had a day off work. Both of those things finally happened three months after he won. “I thought that I’d get here sooner,” he said as he claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on June 16.

Central Lakes Gas & Bait, located at 216 Red River Ave. S. in Cold Spring, sold the winning ticket.

A Northstar Cash ticket worth $28,000 for the drawing on July 16, 2008 (sold in Stearns County) has not been claimed. Players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim all prizes.

To play Northstar Cash, players select five numbers from 1 to 31. Matching the five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and grows until it is won. Players also win by matching 2, 3 or 4 of the numbers drawn. 

Northstar Cash drawings are conducted daily after the Daily 3® drawing. Tickets must be purchased by 6:10 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
