St. Paul Resident Wins $56,431 Northstar Cash® Prize
JULY 2, 2008 — St. Paul resident Ciera Ramsey won a $56,431 Northstar Cash prize from the July 1 drawing. Her ticket was one of two sold to match all five winning numbers (11-12-15-26-30) to split the $112,862 jackpot.
Ramsey picked the winning numbers by using her family members’ birthdays. “Three of the numbers were my uncles’ birthdays, one was my mama’s and the other was my auntie’s,” she explained today at the Lottery’s office in Roseville where she claimed the prize.
Ramsey purchased the winning ticket at Dale Speedy Market, located at 589 N. Dale St. in St. Paul.
The other half of the jackpot was claimed by Arnulf Leier of Maple Grove.
A Northstar Cash jackpot worth $25,000 from the drawing on July 25, 2007 has not yet been claimed. Northstar Cash players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
To play Northstar Cash, players select five numbers from 1 to 31. Matching the five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and grows until it is won. Players also win by matching 2, 3 or 4 of the numbers drawn.
Northstar Cash drawings are conducted daily after the Daily 3® drawing. Tickets must be purchased by 6:10 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
