Oak Grove Resident Starts 2009 by Winning $1 Million

“I Can’t Wait for the Rest of 2009!”

Lindsey IskierkaJANUARY 5, 2009 - Lindsey Iskierka of Oak Grove is understandably optimistic about 2009. Iskierka, who is 21 years old, started the year by winning a $1 million Minnesota Millionaire Raffle prize. “I was so excited. It was a very good way to start the year; I can’t wait for the rest of 2009!” she said as she claimed the prize.

Iskierka purchased two tickets and put them in a drawer for safekeeping. When she thought about checking the tickets to see if they were winners on Jan. 1, she initially couldn’t find them. She finally located them at about 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 2. When she checked the first ticket, she saw that it was one of the two $1 million winners. “I told my mom, ‘I won $1 million!’ I was so excited. Then I woke up my dad.”

Iskierka’s winning ticket matched the number 301425. She purchased her winning ticket at Stop-N-Shop, located at 22945 Lake George Blvd. in St. Francis. “I was mad when the tickets sold out because I wanted to buy another one,” she said.

The other $1 million prize was claimed by Daryl Schmidt of Blaine. Keith Crozier of Brooklyn Park and Jill Rootes of Hanover each claimed $100,000 prizes. Two additional $100,000 prizes have not yet been claimed (one was sold in Hennepin County and the other was sold in Wright County).

The $100,000 prizes must be claimed at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville. Winners of the $100,000 prizes should call the Lottery’s Public Relations office at (651) 635-8271 to make arrangements to claim their prize. The $25,000 prizes can be claimed by mail or at any Lottery office. The $500 prizes can be claimed at any Lottery retailer, by mail or at any Lottery office. Players have until Jan. 4, 2010 to claim prizes from the Jan. 1, 2009 drawing. All 110 winning numbers are available at www.mnlottery.com.

The Minnesota Millionaire Raffle Game launched on Oct. 19, 2008. Only 500,000 tickets were available. The game sold out on Dec. 28, 2008. Each $10 ticket features a unique six-digit number that players have to match against the numbers that were drawn on New Year’s Day.
