Detroit Lakes Resident Wins $13,000 Northstar Cash^® Prize

JULY 6, 2009 — Darla Vareberg of Detroit Lakes won $13,000 playing Northstar Cash. The numbers on her ticket matched the winning numbers of 2-15-16-18-27 drawn on June 28, 2009 to win $13,000. Her ticket was one of two sold that matched all five winning numbers for that drawing to split the $26,000 jackpot.

Vareberg purchased the winning ticket at Central Market, 310 E. Highway 10 in Detroit Lakes.

Douglas Domeier of Sleepy Eye won the other $13,000 prize from the drawing on June 28. The following Northstar Cash jackpot prizes are unclaimed: $39,146 from the July 5, 2009 drawing (sold in Koochiching County), $57,277 from the drawing on June 19, 2009 (sold in Stearns County) and $28,000 from the drawing on July 16, 2008 (sold in Stearns County). Northstar Cash players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

To play Northstar Cash, players select five numbers from 1 to 31. Matching the five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and grows until it is won. Players also win by matching 2, 3 or 4 of the numbers drawn. 

Northstar Cash drawings are conducted daily after the Daily 3® drawing. Tickets must be purchased by 6:10 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
