Lottery Winner Reels in a Keeper

Wins “Absolutely Gorgeous” Lund® Boat Prize Package — Valued at $66,621

JUlY 21, 2008 - Jeff Gallaher of Wahpeton, N.D. landed a whopper of a prize in the Lottery’s Hook, Lund® and Sinker scratch game second chance promotion! Gallaher won a Lund® boat package that includes a 2008 Lund® 1850 Tyee OBGS boat, 2008 Mercury 175XL Verado 4-stroke motor and a 2008 Shoreland’r custom painted Bunk trailer (the prize includes state and federal tax withholdings paid).

Gallaher toured the Lund® Boat Company plant in New York Mills and picked up his boat prize package on July 17.

“The boat is absolutely gorgeous. It’s so much bigger than I thought. I’ve never owned a boat before. It’s fantastic, it’s just wonderful,” said Gallaher after he brought his boat home.

He also enjoyed touring the plant. “It was interesting watching how they made everything and how everything got put together from a roll of aluminum to the boats. I liked that.”

Gallaher said that he purchased the Hook, Lund® and Sinker scratch ticket because the boat caught his eye. “I thought that would be great to have. I’d tell people I’m going to win this boat and they said, ‘yeah, right.’” After he received a call from a Lottery staff person, he thought it was probably one of his friends playing a joke so he wanted to verify the win by checking the Lottery’s Web site. Since someone was using his computer, Gallaher called his son and asked him to check for him. “He called me back and said, ‘You won a boat! You won a boat!’ I put the phone down — I had to sit down — I was shaking.”

The Minnesota State Lottery teamed up with Lund® Boat Company to offer the Hook, Lund® and Sinker scratch game for the chance to win a Lund® boat package valued at $66,621.
