Being at the Right Place at the Right Time Worth
$100,000 for Inver Grove Heights Resident

JUlY 29, 2008 - Tammy Hase of Inver Grove Heights said she was just “at the right place at the right time” when she decided to purchase a few Lottery tickets Sunday — one of those tickets, a Hook, Lund® and Sinker scratch ticket, was a $100,000 winner.

Hase purchased the tickets at Trestle Stop, located at 9717 S. Robert Trail in Inver Grove Heights, and then took them home to play them.

She was shocked to uncover a $100,000 win. “I just couldn’t believe it. I just kept looking at it. But the matching number 17 was there and the prize shown below was $100,000.” Just to be sure, “I quickly ran over and had my neighbor look at it. Then I took it back to the store.” She smiled and continued, “And then I called a few family and friends.”

Hase said that she plays Lottery occasionally and never thought she’d win a big prize. “I just play because it’s fun.” She added that she’s always happy to win, no matter what the prize is.

She claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on July 28.

The $5 Hook, Lund® and Sinker scratch game offers instant cash prizes up to $100,000. But the real catch is two Lund® 1850 Tyee boat packages — valued at $66,621 — which players can win through a second-chance drawing. To enter the second-chance drawing, players can mail in non-winning Hook, Lund® and Sinker scratch tickets or enter them on the Lottery’s Web site at mnlottery.com. Entries must be received by Sept. 16, 2008 to qualify for the final drawing.

To play the game, simply scratch the play area to reveal your Winning Numbers. If any of your 20 numbers match the Winning Numbers, you win the prize shown below the winning number. Reveal a hook symbol and you’ll win double the prize. Uncover a money bag symbol to automatically win a Fast $25 or a double money bag symbol to win a Fast $50.

The overall odds to win a prize playing the Hook, Lund® and Sinker scratch game are 1 in 3.78. Currently, three of seven $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.
