Blaine Resident Wins $50,000 Lottery Prize

SEPTEMBER 9, 2009 - David Jensen of Blaine won a $50,000 prize by playing the Lottery’s $500,000 Cash Explosion® scratch game.

“I think I went into shock when I realized what I won,” said Jensen. As he scratched the ticket, he saw that it was a winner and uncovered a bit of the prize amount as he continued to scratch the play area. “I saw ‘$5’ and thought, ‘Oh, I won $50.’” Jensen continued to scratch the ticket, hoping to uncover more winners. “I was disappointed that I didn’t win $100; then I scratched off the whole prize amount and saw all the zeros,” Jensen recalled. “I looked at it for about 10 minutes and then I called my son.”

Holiday, located at 9933 Ulysses St. N.E. in Blaine, sold the winning ticket.

Jensen claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on Sept. 8.

The $500,000 Cash Explosion® scratch game is a $20 ticket that offers a top prize of $500,000. Each ticket is a blast of fun games and 35 chances to win.
