Blaine Resident Wins $100,000 Lottery Prize
SEPTEMBER 18, 2009 — Florencio Magadan of Blaine bought gas and two Strike It Rich! scratch tickets this morning. As he scratched the tickets at home, the second one surprised him. “I sat there and sat there. I kept looking at it and thought, ‘That’s $100,000!’”
Magadan claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters in Roseville shortly thereafter. “I’m very happy,” he said. “It couldn’t have come at a better time.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Oasis, 9850 Polk St. N.E. in Blaine.
Strike It Rich! is a $5 scratch game that offers a $100,000 top prize. Currently three of four $100,000 prizes remain in the game. Overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.65.
