$200,000 Powerball Winner in Anoka County

MARCH 14, 2008 — A Powerball® ticket sold in Anoka County matched the first five numbers drawn on March 12 to win $200,000! The winning Powerball numbers drawn on March 12 were 12-19-30-34-36 and the Powerball was 8.

The winner should sign the back of the ticket and call the Lottery’s Public Relations office at 888-568-8379 or 651-635-8273 (choose option 1) to make arrangements to claim the prize.

A $200,000 Powerball prize from the Feb. 13, 2008 drawing (sold in Stearns County) has not yet been claimed. Powerball prizes that are not claimed within one year of the drawing are transferred to Minnesota’s General Fund, which benefits all Minnesotans in areas such as education, transportation and public safety.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $275 million. The cash option is an estimated $135.7 million.

If a winner selected the $275 million graduated annuity option, the estimated annual payment in year 1 would be $4.9 million and would grow to $15.2 million in year 30. (A final payment schedule will be determined after the annuity is actually purchased.)

If the winner selected the $135.7 million cash option, he or she would receive a check for approximately $91.9 million after withholding. Jackpot winners have 60 days after claiming the prize to decide between the cash or annuity option.
