St. Paul Resident Wins $72,598 Northstar Cash® Jackpot
 SEPTEMBER 21, 2009 — Shaun Yang of St. Paul was on his way to play a round of golf on Sept. 16 when he stopped at Holiday, located at 1608 Rice St. in St. Paul, and purchased three Northstar Cash tickets. One of those tickets matched all five numbers drawn later that day to win the $72,598 jackpot.
“I just had some extra cash so I decided to buy the tickets — I guess I just got lucky,” Yang said as he claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on Sept. 18. “I haven’t ever won anything like this, I think I’m still kind of awestruck,” he added.
Yang took the day off of work to claim the prize and was hoping to celebrate the win in part with another round of golf.
To play Northstar Cash, players select five numbers from 1 to 31. Matching the five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and grows until it is won. Players also win by matching 2, 3 or 4 of the numbers drawn.
Northstar Cash drawings are conducted daily after the Daily 3® drawing. Tickets must be purchased by 6:10 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
