Pine River Man’s Adventurous Feeling Leads to a $200,000 Lottery Win
MARCH 21, 2008 — Skyler Lindstam of Pine River said he was “feeling adventurous” so he decided to purchase a $10 Gold Bar Bonanza scratch ticket. As Lindstam played the game, he noticed that the ticket appeared to be a $200,000 winner. Skeptical of his win, he asked his girlfriend to look the ticket over. Still in disbelief, the couple went to a Lottery retailer where the $200,000 win was verified. “I just started jumping up and down,” recalled Lindstam. “I was freaking out.”
That evening, Lindstam took his family out to dinner to celebrate. The next day (March 21) he claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville. Lindstam is the first player to win a $200,000 Gold Bar Bonanza prize. Three of four $200,000 prizes remain in the game.
Food N Fuel/A-Pine Express, located at 33117 Old Highway 371 in Pequot Lakes, sold the winning ticket.
