St. Paul Resident Wins $200,000 Lottery Prize
 SEPTEMBER 29, 2009 — Tina Pitman of St. Paul said that she and her husband do not normally play $10 scratch games, but on Saturday, they won a total of $20 on two Lucky Lines tickets and decided to splurge on two Casino Action scratch tickets. One of those tickets was a $200,000 winner.
Pitman said that she likes to play scratch tickets without uncovering the prize amounts until the very end. As she scratched the winning ticket, she accidentally uncovered the $200,000 prize before she uncovered the play area. “I saw all the zeroes and commas and thought, ‘Well I’m sure I didn’t win that,’” she recalled. Then she uncovered a little more and saw that she had won the $200,000 prize. “I thought, ‘No way!’”
After a “very sleepless weekend,” during which she double checked the ticket repeatedly —“I probably looked at it 1,000 times,” she said — Pitman claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on Sept. 28.
SuperAmerica, located at 296 E. 7th St. in St. Paul, sold the winning ticket.
Casino Action is a $10 scratch game that offers a top prize of $200,000. There are currently two of four $200,000 top prizes remaining. The overall odds of winning a prize by playing Casino Action are 1 in 3.34.
