Crystal Resident Wins $34,009 Northstar Cash Prize

APRIL 11, 2008 — Crystal resident Amy Nolasco buys a Northstar Cash ticket twice a week. On April 8 she purchased a single-line quick-pick ticket for three drawings (April 8-10). Nolasco said she normally checks her ticket when she gets home from work, but she checked the ticket this morning because she had the day off.

“I was looking at the numbers and saw the first three numbers [matched]. I thought, ‘I hope I get another one to win $50.’ I got two more numbers! I pointed to the ticket and told my husband, ‘Look! Look!’” Matching all five numbers was worth $34,009, the jackpot for the drawing on April 10.

As Nolasco claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters in Roseville earlier today, she said, “My husband said some day we’ll win.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Gas America, 7117 Bass Lake Road in New Hope.

A Northstar Cash jackpot ticket worth $25,000 from the drawing on July 25, 2007 (sold in Ramsey County) has not yet been claimed. Players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim all prizes.

To play Northstar Cash, players select five numbers from 1 to 31. Matching the five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and grows until it is won. Players also win by matching 2, 3 or 4 of the numbers drawn.
