Burnsville Resident Wins $14,000 Northstar Cash^® Prize

OCTOBER 28, 2009 — Charles Gupton of Burnsville won $14,000 playing Northstar Cash. The first line on his five-line ticket matched the winning numbers of 3-5-16-21-27 drawn on Oct. 26, 2009 to win a $14,000 prize. His ticket was one of two sold that matched all five winning numbers for that drawing to split the $28,000 jackpot.

Gupton purchased the winning ticket at Cub Foods, 1750 County Road 42 W. in Burnsville.

Donald Engebretson of Alexandria claimed the second $14,000 prize from this drawing. A Northstar Cash jackpot ticket worth $63,148 from the drawing on Oct. 10, 2009 (sold in Washington County) is unclaimed. Northstar Cash players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

To play Northstar Cash, players select five numbers from 1 to 31. Matching the five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and grows until it is won. Players also win by matching 2, 3 or 4 of the numbers drawn. 

Northstar Cash drawings are conducted daily after the Daily 3® drawing. Tickets must be purchased by 6:10 p.m. on the day of the drawing.

Proceeds from the Minnesota State Lottery benefit all Minnesotans. Since 1990, the Lottery has raised more than $1.7 billion for state programs. Another $677 million has funded critical environmental programs.
