The Minnesota Millionaire Raffle Game is Back!

Still the best odds to win $1 million; New this year: Bonus Prizes

NOVEMBER 3, 2009 — Tickets for this year’s Minnesota Millionaire Raffle are now on sale. Minnesota State Lottery players have until Dec. 31, or until all 500,000 Raffle tickets sell out, to have the chance to start 2010 with a $1 million win! The Raffle game has sold out early every time it has been offered.

With a maximum of 500,000 tickets and two guaranteed $1 million prizes, these $10 tickets offer the Lottery’s best chance at winning $1 million.

Like in previous years, Raffle prizes include four $100,000 prizes, four $25,000 prizes and one hundred $500 prizes in addition to the two $1 million top prizes. This year, players will also have the chance to win one of 40 exciting bonus prizes. The bonus prizes include things like a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, shopping sprees and trips to exotic locations like Hawaii and to some of the fabulous resorts that Minnesota has to offer.

Tickets cost $10 and will be in sequential order from 000001 to 500000. Each Raffle ticket sold will indicate a specific bonus prize on the bottom of the ticket that the ticket holder is eligible to win.

“The Minnesota Millionaire Raffle game has become a favorite gift item to give — and to receive — the past three years. Last year, one of the $1 million winners received the ticket as a gift,” explained Lottery Executive Director Clint Harris. “The addition of the bonus prize makes it even more personal and fun to give this ticket as a gift.”

The drawing will be held on Jan. 1, 2010. The winning numbers for the cash prizes will be drawn first (starting with the $1 million prizes). After the final $500 cash prize winning number is drawn, the bonus prize winning numbers will be drawn. Each ticket has the chance to win both a cash prize and the bonus prize printed on it. The winning numbers for the $25,000 prizes will be televised on the Lottery’s official drawing stations at 7:59 p.m.; the $100,000 prizes at 8:59 p.m.; and the $1 million prizes at 9:59 p.m. All winning numbers will be displayed on the Lottery’s Web site at mnlottery.com.
   
The Lottery will be hosting a Raffle kick-off event at the Mall of America’s Best Buy® Rotunda on Nov. 7 from noon to 4 p.m.
