Coon Rapids Man Wins $46,668 Northstar Cash® Jackpot
April 25 - It only took one ticket for Lyle Johnson of Coon Rapids. The sole ticket that Johnson purchased for the Northstar Cash drawing on April 23 matched all five winning numbers (10-16-19-21-22) to win the $46,668 jackpot.
Johnson arrived at the Lottery’s headquarters on April 24 to claim his prize. “I didn’t believe it at first,” recalled Johnson, who discovered his win by calling the Lottery’s winning numbers hotline. After verifying his win at a Lottery retailer, Johnson said, “I guess it’s the real thing.”
Johnson purchased the winning ticket at Rainbow Foods, located at 3340 – 124th Ave. in Coon Rapids.
A Northstar Cash jackpot worth $25,000 from the drawing on July 25, 2007 (sold in Ramsey County) has not been claimed. Northstar Cash players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
To play Northstar Cash, players select five numbers from 1 to 31. Matching the five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and grows until it is won. Players also win by matching 2, 3 or 4 of the numbers drawn.
Northstar Cash drawings are conducted daily after the Daily 3® drawing. Tickets must be purchased by 6:10 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
