Monticello Man Wins $100,000 Lottery Prize

NOVEMBER 9, 2009 — After winning a $100,000 Lottery prize by playing the WPT® Texas Hold ’Em® scratch game, Bob Ries of Monticello says Christmas is going to be good for his family this year.

In addition to buying presents for his family this holiday season, Ries says he’s looking forward to paying down some loans and saving some of the prize. “It’s a relief to have financial security,” he explained as he claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on  Nov. 6.

Ries purchased the winning ticket at Cub Foods, located at 216 – 7th St. W. in Monticello.

WPT® Texas Hold ’Em® is a $5 scratch game that offers a $100,000 top prize. There are currently one of five $100,000 prizes remaining. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.66.
