Minneapolis Resident Wins $100,000 Lottery Prize

JUNE 5, 2008 — Clara Mae Baskett of Minneapolis won a $100,000 Lottery prize by playing the Sparkling Sapphires scratch game. Baskett claimed the prize on June 4 at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville.

SuperAmerica, located at 1195 Canterbury Road S. in Shakopee, sold the winning ticket.

Sparkling Sapphires is a $5 scratch game that offers players a chance to win a sparkling $100,000 top prize. Four of five $100,000 prizes remain in the game. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.47. 

To play, simply scratch the play area. If you match three like symbols in the same game, you win the prize shown.
