Spring Park Resident Wins $105,070 Northstar Cash^® Jackpot

JUNE 12, 2008 — Gideon Akosa of Spring Park won the $105,070 Northstar Cash jackpot from the June 5 drawing.

“It’s a good day,” Akosa said with a smile when he arrived at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville on June 11 to claim his prize.

The single ticket that Akosa purchased for the drawing matched all five winning numbers (4-8-13-18-19) to win the jackpot. As he claimed his prize, Akosa said, “This makes me really excited from the bottom of my heart.”

Akosa purchased the winning ticket at Shoreline BP, located at 4311 Shoreline Drive in Spring Park.

A Northstar Cash jackpot worth $27,000 from the June 8, 2008 drawing (sold in Hennepin County) and a $25,000 Northstar Cash jackpot from the drawing on July 25, 2007 (sold in Ramsey County) have not yet been claimed. Northstar Cash players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim all prizes.

To play Northstar Cash, players select five numbers from 1 to 31. Matching the five numbers drawn wins the jackpot, which starts at $25,000 and grows until it is won. Players also win by matching 2, 3 or 4 of the numbers drawn. 

Northstar Cash drawings are conducted daily after the Daily 3® drawing. Tickets must be purchased by 6:10 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
