Two $50,000 Powerball® Wins and $124,745 North 5 Jackpot Awarded on Wednesday, August 27
Powerball® Jackpot Climbs to Estimated $950 Million for Saturday, August 30
ROSEVILLE, Minn. (August 28, 2025) — Minnesota lottery players won three big prizes in the Wednesday, August 27 drawings.
One lucky North 5 player hit the jackpot to win a $124,745 prize on a ticket purchased in Cottage Grove at the Cub Foods located at 8690 Point Douglas Road. Cub Foods (Cottage Grove) earns a $1,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
Powerball® also brought excitement with two tickets sold to each win $50,000. The winning tickets were sold in Forest Lake at Forest Lake Moto Mart located at 1898 S. Lake Street and in Cambridge at Kwik Trip located at 2450 Second Avenue SE.
In Minnesota, prize claims must be submitted within one (1) year of the drawing date. Minnesota Lottery prizes above $50,000 must be claimed in person at Minnesota Lottery headquarters in Roseville. Prizes $50,000 and below can be claimed by mail or at any regional office. It is recommended that winners call ahead to check hours and to make an appointment
Unless the winner chooses to opt in to publicity, their name and city will not be released. As of Sept. 1, 2021, the names and cities of lottery prize winners above $10,000 are private data.
The Powerball jackpot is an estimated $950 million (annuity option) for the Saturday, August 30 drawing. The North 5 jackpot is an estimated $25,000 for the Thursday, August 28 drawing. Visit www.mnlottery.com for more information and official rules.
