This probably isn’t news to you, but here at the Minnesota Lottery, we love to give away prizes. And since every ticket can’t be a winner — because we’re here to give back to Minnesota in a big way, like $3 billion and counting big — we offer a variety of 2nd Chances throughout the year to give you even more ways to win.
From cars to trip packages, and Minnesota-made merchandise prize packs, and just about everything in between, including exclusive prizes that even money can’t buy, our 2nd Chance could be just the ticket to your next big win.

How to sign up
If you’re new to 2nd Chance drawings, you can create a free player account on mnlottery.com where you can enter non-winning tickets.

How to enter tickets
Once you are signed in to your account, select the contest you would like to enter from the drop-down menu, then type in the 10-digit entry code you’ll find after scratching the 2nd Chance logo on the front of your scratch ticket.

How to find a list of current 2nd Chance contests
To view the current list of 2nd Chances, visit the “2nd Chance” tab at the top of mnlottery.com. Each ticket that offers a 2nd Chance includes a 2nd Chance icon printed on the front of the ticket, so look for that icon when you’re picking out tickets at your local lottery retailer if you want another way to win.

2nd Chance drawing date changes
2nd Chance end dates or drawing dates may change due to a number of reasons:
- A scratch game may sell out earlier than expected, resulting in a shorter entry period.
- After a game ends, we require all lottery retailers to return any unsold tickets before we can hold the final 2nd Chance drawing. Sometimes this process takes a little longer than anticipated so we need to push the final draw date out.
- Our website must be down due to regularly scheduled maintenance and updates. During this time you will not be able to access your account, so 2nd Chance entries may not be submitted.
- A contest entry start or end date is inconsistent with the official 2nd Chance rules. The drawing is delayed until the inconsistency has been resolved.
- A technical issue with the entry system.
Our number one priority is that our 2nd Chance drawings happen securely and fairly, and while we also want them conducted on time, sometimes changes are made to the drawings schedule to ensure the integrity and security.
