Minnesota is known as the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” but did you know we have closer to 12,000 natural lakes? Our state is also home to the headwaters of the Mississippi and the north shore of the greatest of the Great Lakes. Minnesota’s lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands are not only beautiful, they are critical for wildlife habitat, recreation and public health. Lottery proceeds being invested in projects that help to protect native species, fight invasive species, and protect water quality.
