News Release: Montgomery, Minnesota Powerball® Player Wins $2 Million
Montgomery, Minnesota Powerball® Player Wins $2 Million
ROSEVILLE, Minn. (Oct. 15, 2026) — A $1 million Powerball® prize turned into $2 million for one lucky Minnesota Lottery player in Montgomery Wednesday night. Thanks to the Power Play® option, the prize was doubled for matching all five numbers in the October 14 drawing, turning a million-dollar match into a $2 million payday.
Power Play® is an optional feature available to Powerball® players for an additional $1 per play. It multiplies non-jackpot prizes by a number drawn before each Powerball® drawing.
The winning ticket was purchased in the small town of Montgomery, population 3,249, at OAM Food and Fuel located at 301 4th St SW. Selling winning lottery tickets pays off for retailers, too. OAM Food and Fuel earns a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, which is an added benefit to businesses that offer lottery games.
In Minnesota, prize claims must be submitted within one (1) year of the drawing date. Minnesota Lottery prizes above $50,000 must be claimed in person at Minnesota Lottery headquarters in Roseville. Prizes $50,000 and below can be claimed by mail or at any regional office. It is recommended that winners call ahead to check hours and to make an appointment.
