News Release: The Powerball® Jackpot Climbs

The Powerball® Jackpot Climbs to an Estimated $1.6 billion for the Dec. 22 Drawing

Luck strikes twice with two MN $50,000 Powerball® wins over weekend

ROSEVILLE, Minn. (Dec. 22, 2025) — The excitement rolls on as the Powerball jackpot continues to grow to an estimated $1.6 billion dollars for the Dec 22. drawing. With a cash value of $735.3 million, this is the 4th largest jackpot in Powerball history.

Two Minnesota communities celebrated big wins over the weekend after two Powerball® tickets won $50,000 in the Dec. 20 Powerball drawing.

The winning tickets were both purchased at Kwik Trip stores, one located at 18290 Pilot Knob Road in Farmington and the other at 1320 Highway 45 in Scanlon.

“The rolling jackpot adds to the fun of this festive season,” said Lottery Director Adam Prock. “It only takes one ticket to win. The thrill of playing the lottery is best enjoyed responsibly, and that means not gifting tickets to anyone under 18.”

In Minnesota, prize claims must be submitted within one (1) year of the drawing date. Minnesota Lottery prizes above $50,000 must be claimed in person at Minnesota Lottery headquarters in Roseville. Prizes $50,000 and below can be claimed by mail or at any regional office. It is recommended that winners call ahead to check hours and to make an appointment.

Unless the winner chooses to opt in to publicity, their name and city will not be released. As of Sept. 1, 2021, the names and cities of lottery prize winners above $10,000 are private data.
